about

Now this an autobiographic thing, except for the last verse, because obviously, I´m not already dead and gone! Rock´n´Roll always meant more to me than just music. It meant rebellion, and I lived up to that. I wasn´t allowed to join a band, my parents even rejected to buy me an electric guitar, my greatest desire. So I tried to steal one, got caught, I rehearsed secretly with a band when my mother showed up and dragged me out. I was so angry , I cried. I ran away from home when I was 15 and strolled around on the beaches of southern France, that´s where my profound love to this country and its people developed. The police picked me up, and when I got home, I dropped out of school. And so on and on. But, here I am, still rock´n´rolling.
I wrote this song like I always do: without thinking too much. Listening to it then, I clearly see my influences: First part of the verse is a heavy riff that could have been from the Queens of the Stone Age, second part is early british punk like the Damned, and the chorus is The Who. In the end, who cares. It´s straight forward Rock´n´Roll!

lyrics

GOOD SON DEAD AND GONE

Dropped outta school cos I was
Acceptin no rules and I was
Askin me who are you to tell me what to do
Truth can be cruel but I will never be yer dog
Rebel with a cause and a rock´n´roll rage
Break the chains and storm the stage
Everybody tellin me which way I should run
I looked up to my mother

Said rama lama ding dong
I don´t want no lesson
I´ll never be a good son

You´re makin me blue, said mama
You stupid fool, said poppa and the boy went
Let´s talk about you and your cage of possession
Talk about you and your life of submission
I´m gonna start to rock and I´m gonna start to roll
This boy is goin straight thru the walls
Everybody givin me advice I never asked for
I looked up to my father

Said rama lama ding dong
I don´t want no lesson
I´ll never be a good son

Torment in his soul and riot in his blood
Tell the story quick, life was short
Big idea in his head but he rocked himself to death
And he looked up to the skies

Said rama lama ding dong
I don´t want no lesson
I´ll never be a good son
Rama lama ding dong
I don´t want no lesson
I´d rather be dead and gone

Hoo hoo good son dead and gone

Armenian-rooted, the man was born in Germany, grew up in Colombia, loves french culture - and his music, rooted in hardrock and metal, mixes alle these influences. Dry to the bone, durty, deutsch!
Zis is ze dawn of ze new Krautrock!
