about

Did you know about the genocide that killed about 1,5 millions of Armenians in 1915? A mass killing by the regime of the Young Turks that served as a blueprint for the Holocaust committed by the german Nazis on the Jews, it ist still being denied by the turkish governments against all evidence. I feel comitted to the Armenian cause because my grandma Samariah and my grandpa Tios Petros-Estepanian both lost their parents and were chased out of their homes in Erzerum and Van, eastern Turkey. They fled to Syria, then to Iran. The song is a melange of bitter-sweet melody and my most angry metal arsenal: “anger so deep, love and grief”, that´s what I feel when thinking about my armenian heritage. “One day, my sweet, you will see me sit in peace by the apricot tree” – Samariah, Tios, this album is for you.

lyrics

APRICOT TREE

Far away so far away
Historically, geographically
Feel your pain inside of me
Anger so deep, love and grief
One day my sweet you will see
Me sit in peace by the apricot tree
One day my sweet you will see
Me sit in peace by the apricot tree

Spell the word - genocide

Roots so sweet, roots that bleed
Jerewan Jerewan
Broken home dead family
Armenia Armenia
One day my sweet you will see
Me sit in peace by the apricot tree
One day my sweet you will see
Me sit in peace by the apricot tree

Spell the word - genocide

Zis is ze dawn of ze new Krautrock!
